While we strive to approach our work as real estate advisors with a mindset that is uniquely supportive of our clients' individual and family goals, caring for our community has always been critically important to us as well. Nancy started her professional life in nonprofits and recognizes that the commercial and public sectors leave a gap in community care and service to the most vulnerable that can really only be filled by NGOs, nonprofits and mutual aid.
In 2023, Nancy proudly earned a Masters degree in nonprofit leadership from Seattle University. Throughout her course of study, she met some stellar people who were equally driven to make a difference, each with their own "why" and their own "how" about making change.
When life beckoned her to return to real estate, she knew that she still wanted to put her nonprofit background to use.
She does so by featuring various organizations here that we have learned about through clients who have closed with us or referred business to me and that we have chosen to support with a contribution of time, talent or 'treasure.' Friends of CASA provides support for abused and neglected children in the King County dependency system when there is no other available source, with the goal of promoting safety, well-being, and permanency, in the children’s lives. A CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocate) is a volunteer appointed by the court to represent the best interests of the children as they are taken through the legal process.
For 50 years, Wide Horizons has worked with orphaned children worldwide. A child is most at risk of becoming orphaned when a perfect storm of crises takes hold of their family. We intervene with help, focused relentlessly on keeping the most at-risk families intact. We can prevent a child from becoming orphaned by providing integrated services to preserve and strengthen their family.
